100% Egyptian GIZA Combed Cotton
After all the special blends we tested lately it was very nice to be remembered that an allcotton wrap can be a great choice, too. Some time ago this wrap arrived here and it was my first one from Mamaruga, a family business, based in the UK.
The design of this wrap shows, like the name says, abstract moons which create a geometric design without looking hard or edgy. The moons are structured and give every moon a unique look. I really like this design because it is somehow simple and classy but also very interesting. The colours are a beautiful combination of dark blue and a pale pink on silver. I think this meets the moon theme very good. The bright half moons shine on a dark night sky. It’s indeed a poetic wrap that invites you to dream.
It is made of 100% Egyptian GIZA combed cotton. I never heard of this before so I did a little research what is special about GIZA cotton. It’s a very high graded cotton fibre of Egyptian cotton and counts as very long, thin and strong. “Meaning the irregularities are minimal, therefore producing a very smooth and silky look and feel when woven into fabric. “ * Well, that sound perfect for me to be used for wraps.
The wrap arrived here washed once but not broken in yet so we used it a lot and it took us some time to make it soft. A second wash made a huge difference and the fabric fluffed up a lot! So you may need to be a little bit patient with this one. It is a medium thick wrap that glides nicely into place without needing too much effort in pulling the rails. It is easy to wrap with and shines in one layer or more layer carries. The knot is pretty big but maybe that is just my inability to make small knots.
